Tourism in Pieria
Pieria is located in the central part of Greece in Central Macedonia, between the Mount Olympus and the Aegean Sea.
The currency of the Olympic Riviera is the euro, as is the whole of Greece, and the time for the Olympic Riviera is Eastern European Summer Time (GMT +3). The largest city in the area is Katerini, and Thessaloniki and its airport are also very close, which makes travel easy and much faster than even by car.
In the Pieria region you can practice various sports: from water sports such as windsurfing, swimming, pedal boats, beach volleyball and sailing to mountain climbing.
However, most people choose to visit and admire historical places and beautiful views that will make us feel like we are transferred to Ancient Greece or the view from the most beautiful photos.
In Piera, there will also be those who prefer sunbathing on the beach and hanging out in restaurants – the Greek climate will surely provide you with plenty of sun, and at every step you will find an climatic place where you will be able to eat well and try local specials.
If we also intend to visit a different part of Greece than just the Olympic Riviera, Pieria is perfect for a parking space – it’s located in the center of Greece, so access to each place will take about the same.
